Robert Altman
Principal
Bob began his real estate financing career with New York Life Insurance Company structuring large permanent mortgages. Bob later joined Bank Leumi where he was the youngest person in the bank’s history to receive an official title. At the bank he originated and underwrote construction loans involving both ground-up development and major gut renovations.
In 1986, Bob left the lending side to become the Director of Finance for the Scharfman Organization, a real estate investment and commercial real estate finance company with assets in excess of $600 million. During his tenure, he dramatically enhanced and expanded the company’s lending relationships, arranging $450 million in financing for the company. Most recently, he served as President of Mortgage Funding Corporation, a related commercial mortgage brokerage company that he ran for sixteen years.
Since 1989, Bob has been actively involved in numerous real estate development projects and is currently a principal in several investment properties. He holds a B.A. degree in Finance from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Brian Warwick
Principal
Brian first joined Robert Altman in 1997 when he was appointed Director of Finance for Mortgage Funding Corporation. There he was responsible for all mortgage placement and was instrumental in expanding the business. Previously, Brian was Senior Vice President at Apple Bank for Savings serving in their Workout/Asset Management Department from 1991-1994 where he successfully managed a distressed loan portfolio of over $500 million.
Brian established his career in 1986 at CrossLand Savings Bank in New York where he originated over $800 million in new loans which included permanent, construction, and bridge financing, and in 1991, was promoted to Senior Vice President in the Commercial Real Estate Asset Management and Workout Department. In that capacity he oversaw a portfolio of over $1 billion of distressed bank mortgage debt.
Brian holds a B.A. in Economics from New York University.
Gerald Krell
Director of Originations
Prior to joining Altman Warwick, Gerry was the founder of the Realco Group, a full-service real estate and management firm servicing the Metro New York area as well as the upstate New York market. Since its inception in 1975, the Realco Group was a dominant force in commercial leasing and investment sales and exclusively represented such retailers as Office Max, Trader Joes, and Kings Supermarkets.
Gerry has also been active in the investment sales area having concluded numerous transactions with individual and institutional investors including pension funds and REITS. Gerry has extensive experience in sourcing property for 1031 tax-free exchange investors and has exclusively represented both buyers and sellers in such transactions.
Gerry has extensive asset management experience and has been a principal in both the development and ownership of numerous commercial properties. He is a graduate of C.C.N.Y. and a member of both the I.C.S.C. and The Retail Network.
Morris Dweck
Vice President/Commercial Originations
Morris began his real estate career as an investor in the 1980’s. He was a principal in over 18 properties totaling 500,000 square feet. Morris joined Altman Warwick in 2011 as an originator with a focus on equity financing. He arranged debt, mezzanine and equity financing for several prominent New York owners on multifamily, shopping centers and mixed-use buildings.
Todd Zipkin
Vice President – Residential Mortgages
Todd brings over 7 years of residential loan origination and underwriting experience to Altman Warwick. His responsibilities include originating and placing of both commercial and residential loans along with loan modifications.
Most recently Todd managed the Long Beach, NY branch office of United Mortgage Brokerage, where he developed a large referral base of Real Estate professionals and past / present clients. He originated over $150 Million in loans and currently works with 22 agents from 4 brokerage firms.
Todd holds a B.A. degree in both Finance and Public Relations from Syracuse University.
